An Assistant Chief in Londiani, Kericho County, has been arrested for allegedly defiling a four-year-old girl. According to a police report, 42-year-old Douglas Koech Kipkemoi, the Assistant Chief for Kabianga Sub-location, is accused of committing the crime on Wednesday, July 10, near his home.

The incident came to light on July 11 when the child complained of pain in her genital area while urinating. Her mother inquired about the cause, prompting the girl to reveal that she had been defiled by Kipkemoi the previous day at around 7 PM near his home.

Following public outrage and fear of being lynched, the assistant chief surrendered to the police. Both the victim and the suspect were taken to Londiani Sub-county Hospital for medical examination and necessary action.

Kipkemoi is scheduled to be arraigned at the Molo Law Courts.
