Family members have discovered their 26-year-old kin’s body in a mortuary days after he went missing.

He was from Karira village in Mwea, Kirinyaga County, and had just graduated from the National Youth Service (NYS).His motorbike was stolen.

The deceased, James Macharia Waitherero, went missing on Saturday night, and they have been looking for him ever since, according to an uncle named Simon Wanjohi Kariu. Macharia's mother, Louise Waitherera, claims that her son failed to return home after a ride to Ngurubani with a friend.

"I was told by his friend that he received a call from unknown people when he was in a local bar but failed to return, only to discover his body at Kerugoya mortuary. It is very sad," Teresiah Wanjiru, the deceased's aunt said.

Gerald's uncle, Pastor Elijah Githuku, claims that before the motorbike was stolen and Macharia was discovered dead, the deceased's buddy had borrowed it and was almost finished with the payments.

"We also want the police to investigate as we have reported the matter at Kiamaciri police station," Githuku stated.

A relative named Simon Wanjohi said, after visiting the Kimbimbi sub-county hospital, that the family was informed Macharia was brought comatose to the hospital on Saturday night and was taken by hospital ambulance to Kerugoya hospital, where he passed away.
