A suspected thief is in critical condition at Kericho County Referral Hospital after suffering mob justice in Ketipyese village, Ainamoi location, within Ainamoi Sub County.

According to police reports, the man was caught stealing maize from a local farm. Witnesses say he took advantage of a heavy downpour in the area, sneaking into the farm to steal maize cobs. However, the farm owner became aware of the theft.

The owner, noticing a decline in his maize yield, had hired guards to protect his crops. The suspect was apprehended after being shot with an arrow while surveying the plantation. The guards' alarm alerted villagers, who quickly gathered at the scene.

Officers from Ainamoi police station responded promptly, transporting the suspect to the hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
