A mother and her son have been arrested in connection with the alleged murder of a close relative in Gatunduguru village, Murang’a County.
The victim, John Ng'ang'a, was found dead in his bed, with preliminary reports indicating he was beaten to death by his mother and younger brother, Morris Kinuthia.
Witnesses suggest that the fatal incident stemmed from Ng'ang'a's reputation as a domestic thief and troublemaker.
According to Eric Kibandi, another brother of the deceased, Ng'ang'a, returned home and engaged in a heated argument with their mother, during which he broke a window.

Enraged, the mother called Morris, who allegedly came out armed with a rungu (a traditional weapon) and struck Ng'ang'a, causing him to collapse at Kibandi's doorstep.
Jane Wairimu, the Nyumba Kumi Chair for the area, mentioned that Ng'ang'a had previously stolen and sold items without his mother's permission despite repeated warnings.
The suspects are currently being held at Muthithi Police Station as authorities continue their investigation into this tragic event.
