Detectives in Nairobi are investigating the death of Sagar Panara, a 36-year-old employee of MART Networks, who was fatally shot by unidentified attackers in what is believed to be a targeted assault on Tuesday evening.

According to police reports, Panara, who was of Asian descent, was shot as he returned home from the Aga Khan Sports Club, suggesting he may have been followed. He was driving a white Toyota Corolla when the attackers ambushed him at the entrance of his residential compound.

After a brief altercation, the assailants shot him in the neck, just below his right ear, before fleeing the scene. Neighbors and police responded to the gunshots, and Panara was rushed to Aga Khan Hospital, but he died while receiving emergency treatment.

Panara's wife, Nejal Panara, confirmed he had just returned from the sports club moments before the attack. During their investigation, police found six menacing leaflets left by the attackers at the scene. The notes carried the message, "VACATE NAROK LAND, ONE PANARA DOWN, AND NAROK," hinting at a potential link to a land dispute in Narok.

Police are now investigating whether the Panara family's possible connections to land in Narok could have been the motive behind the murder. The incident has shaken the Parklands neighborhood, raising concerns about escalating violence related to land conflicts.
