A tragic incident occurred in Kaseve village, Masinga, Machakos County, where a six-year-old girl lost her life after being poisoned by her biological mother. According to police reports, the child was pronounced dead after the incident on Monday.
The mother, aged 25, along with her nine-year-old daughter, survived and are currently receiving treatment at Embu Level 5 Hospital. Authorities believe the woman poisoned both her daughters before attempting to take her own life.
The incident was first reported to Masinga police by Kyondoni assistant chief, Ruth Munguti. Residents, responding to screams from a nearby bush, discovered the mother and her two daughters lying on the ground. The three were rushed to Kyondoni Dispensary and later transferred to Kivaa Health Centre, where the younger daughter was declared dead.
