Detectives are investigating two separate murder cases reported in Runyenjes, Embu County.

In the first incident, a 24-year-old man from Gichakore village in Gitare Sublocation died after being assaulted in his bathroom. He was initially taken to Runyenjes Level Four Hospital and later referred to Embu Level Five Hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment. Police discovered blood in both the bathroom and his grandmother’s house. The deceased had deep cuts on his head, hands, shoulder, and back. Blood-stained clothes were collected from the scene. Authorities are still investigating the motive and have yet to identify a suspect.


In a second case in Mugomori village, the decomposing body of a 51-year-old man was found in his home, initially suspected to be a suicide by hanging. However, upon further investigation, police found burns on his hands and ears, leading them to suspect foul play. The investigation is ongoing.

Meanwhile, police in Matungulu, Machakos County, are probing the death of a 30-year-old loader who was killed in a workplace accident. The victim was injured when a power saw was accidentally switched on, causing severe injuries to his stomach, throat, ear, and ribs. He was rushed to Donyo Sabuk Nursing Home and later referred to Thika Level Five Hospital, but he died on the way. The body has been moved to the mortuary, pending further investigation and an autopsy.


In Syokimau, a 61-year-old man was found dead by the roadside. The man, a resident of Katani Waumini Court, has been identified, and his body was taken to the mortuary for an autopsy.

In another case in Amakura, Teso, Busia County, a 54-year-old Ugandan woman was found dead in her home, with foam coming from her mouth and nose. It was reported that neither she nor her husband woke up early as usual, prompting family members to check on them. The husband was found vomiting blood and was rushed to Kocholia Subcounty Hospital. Police suspect food poisoning and have launched an investigation.

In Omokubo village, Irondi Sublocation in Kisii County, a 74-year-old man was found dead on a path. The cause of death remains unknown. His body has been moved to the mortuary for an autopsy as investigations continue.
