The alleged crime, which was initially reported at Kiamunyi Police Post in Nakuru, involved the attack of Florence Wanjiku Gichohi, Njeru's girlfriend and business partner at Indigenous Land Properties Limited.
The incident occurred at their rental home in the Olive area following what authorities described as domestic disputes. The victim, who suffered severe injuries, is currently receiving treatment at a local hospital and remains in critical condition.
The attack has sparked outrage among county leaders demanding swift justice for Wanjiku. Gender Principal Secretary Anna Wangombe condemned the violence and pledged legal support to the victim’s family, stating, "We will stand with the family and, once investigations are complete, offer pro bono legal services to represent them."
This case is part of a troubling trend of domestic violence incidents in the region, which have resulted in severe injuries and, in some cases, fatalities. Authorities and community leaders call for more robust measures to curb such acts and ensure justice for the victims.
