Police in Kapsabet have arrested former nominated MCA Carren Atieno Muga following the alleged involvement of her son in a chilling murder in Chemase, Nandi County.

The case, suspected to be tied to organ trafficking, centers on the brutal killing of Enock Kipsang, who was beheaded and mutilated.

According to the National Police Service (NPS), Carren was apprehended along the Chemelil-Miwani-Kisumu road while fleeing her home to avoid retaliation from angry residents. Her vehicle was impounded and taken to the Kapsabet Police Station as investigations continue.

Authorities have launched a manhunt for additional suspects believed to be connected to the heinous crime.
The arrest comes on the heels of an incident where enraged members of the public stormed Chemase Police Post, freed a murder suspect, and subsequently lynched him before setting his body on fire.

The victim, identified as Victor Kimutai (30), had reportedly confessed to the murder of Kipsang and even led investigators to where the victim’s severed head and other body parts were hidden.
