The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has taken into custody Charles Onyango KA'galo, the former District Criminal Investigation Officer (DCIO) of Likoni. According to EACC spokesperson Eric Ngumbi, the arrest occurred on Tuesday at KA'galo's home in Oyugis.

Ngumbi emphasized that the Commission is treating bribery cases with the same seriousness and resolve as it does large-scale corruption. KA'galo is expected to appear before the Mombasa Anti-Corruption Court on Wednesday morning to face charges related to corrupt activities during his time in office.

Ngumbi also highlighted the EACC's heightened focus on bribery at service delivery points, which he noted has a severe negative impact on the public. After his arrest, KA'galo was held at the Port Police Station in anticipation of his court appearance.

The EACC reaffirmed its commitment to addressing corruption in all areas of public service, urging citizens not to give in to bribery demands and to report such incidents to the Commission.
