On Sunday night, a robbery with violence at a store in the Total area, Suna West, Migori County, resulted in the death of a watchman, 46, and the loss of 18 motorcycles and 30 cell phones.

According to Migori County Police Chief Mark Wanjala, James, a watchman, was discovered dead and wounded in front of the destroyed store.

The victim was attacked by an unnamed group, according to Wanjala's initial inquiry.

He claims that the thieves also broke into the shop, stealing 30 cell phones and 18 motorcycles.

The county police commander announced that although an investigation into the violent robbery incident is underway, no suspects have been identified.

To help the authorities find those guilty of the brutal heist, Wanjala has begged the public for help.

He asserted that the police had intensified night patrols in the region to address the instances of insecurity in the county.

Following concern from students about a planned strike, police have been sent to the Kenya National Polytechnic in Kisumu.

In other news, the students say that the administration raised fees in response to the challenging economic climate without consulting them.

The police chief for Kisumu Central Sub County stopped by the school in the morning while several furious pupils waited by the entrance.

According to Catherine Kalonye, the school's principal, the ministry and the Polytechnic Council, they had issued a circular informing them of the increase to Kshs 56,000.

However, she claims that the students' persistent anxiety results from test fever, noting that she spoke to the students yesterday, and all of their representatives were present, only for them to skip exams today.

She asserted that some of the students chanting by the gate were former students of the university, who she accused of wanting to stir the present students.

The students have also accused the administrator of closing school dormitories and forbidding school vans to transport students to funerals.
