Prof. Kindiki, the interior security cabinet secretary, has directed the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Mohamed Amin to intensify its inquiries into Geoffrey Mwathi's mysterious death last month while the musician was staying at DJ Fatxo's flat in Kasarani.

In a statement on Friday, CS Kindiki gave the DCI chief instructions to enlist the aid of homicide detectives in the investigation.

Regarding the late Jeff Mwathi, I met with DCI Mr Amin this morning and told him to dispatch a homicide team from the DCI headquarters to examine the situation and take the necessary measures thoroughly, the CS wrote.

"I appreciate the DCI's prompt response to this issue. The DCI headquarters' homicide team is impartial, which will assist in resolving allegations of cooperation at the Kasarani Police Station.

Since then, the DCI has confirmed that it is handling the case.

The DCI tweeted that investigators from the Kasarani police station's Homicide branch had taken over the investigation into the death of 23-year-old Jeff Mwathi this morning.

Interior designer Mwathi, 23, was seen on surveillance film in the incident on February 22 at Redwood Apartments near Safari Park Estate falling from a window of a home that DJ Fatxo, real name Lawrence Njuguna, was renting out.

Mwathi, along with his cousin and driver, reportedly partied with the well-known Mugithi singer all night before going to DJ Faxto's home.

After spending the evening partying with the well-known Mugithi singer and his cousin and driver, Mwathi was in DJ Faxto's home.

They had met with the singer many hours earlier to discuss an interior design project, and they had offered him a down payment so he could start working that morning.

Because the interior decorator had never considered suicide, the deceased's family has refuted suicide claims, and authorities continue their inquiries.
