Police in Kisii County are looking for teachers at Nyabisia Secondary School in Bobasi after a 19-year-old student allegedly received harsh corporal punishment for breaking exam rules.

The boy described the agony he went through at the hands of his professors while he was being treated at Hema Hospital after having one of his testicles removed by physicians.

Before one of the teachers discovered him with other students, he claimed that students had access to a paper circulated through leaks throughout the school's ongoing exams.

The student described how five teachers, including his math teacher and the security officer of the school, assaulted him with kicks and strikes before dragging him into a classroom designated as a "torture chamber", where he was tied to a log with his legs spread apart to render him helpless against beatings.

When one caused a terrible discomfort below his belt that made it impossible for him to move, he claimed he begged his teachers to cancel his paper instead. One of the testicles had to be removed, according to doctors from Hema Hospital, since it was entirely burnt, apparently as a result of heavy beatings.

Teachers allegedly advised the victim not to disclose the incident to the school principal after realizing the impact it had done.

In the meantime, Kisii Police Commander Charles Kases has committed to holding the guilty parties accountable.

In other news, In Rachuonyo North, Homa Bay County, a 40-year-old man's body was discovered in the River Awach after being abandoned. In preparation for the postmortem, police removed Elijah Bosire's body from the scene and transferred it to Kendu Bay Adventist Mortuary in Kisii County.

The deceased, a farmhand, disappeared while at work on Sunday night. Assistant Chief Athanasio Onduto of the Upper Kakwajuok Sub Location believes the victim was slain elsewhere, and his body was thrown in the river.
