The headteacher of Kiricha Primary School in Bomet County has been on the run from his post for three days after being accused of assaulting a 13-year-old student in grade six last week.
Francis Ng'anga, the head of the Sotik Sub-County police, says that the suspect brought the victim into his office at 5 o'clock while the other kids were playing outside. Nganga contended that although his police have visited the school frequently to get the suspect's comments, he hasn't been seen since
“If he is innocent, he should come out and perform his duties as usual. We are working with education officials in the sub-county to help us trace his whereabouts,” said the police boss.
Students were told to remain home on Wednesday to allow parents and education officers to look for a solution where parents threatened to remove their children from the school if the headteacher was permitted back to head the school.
