The distressing video, taken by a neighbour among the first responders to the Sunday evening uproar this week, shows Olivia Naserian sitting naked, sharpening a knife while singing, before cruelly stabbing her 2-year-old daughter to death.

According to neighbours, she had shut herself inside the house, and they could only watch helplessly as she stabbed and dismembered the baby before consuming sections of her kidney.

The suspect's bereaved family said they are still digesting what happened.

According to a close relative of the suspect, the 24-year-old had recently come home from kirinyaga, where she had lived for the past eight months. Her family thought she was entirely different when she returned to Nairobi.

They had no idea what she was going through at her boyfriend's Kirinyaga residence; a week after her return, the unfathomable occurred.

According to the neighbours, Naiserian began speaking in tongues and chased after the solitary dog in the house before attacking her daughter. The mother also noticed some strange behaviour from her daughter. She said that The last time they were together, she would jump on her and show her lots of love.

On the condition of anonymity, some of the neighbours who spoke to local media said they heard a noise from the residence, causing them to respond.

They initially mistook the incident for a robbery until they spotted the terrible scene, at which point they hurried to Kitengela police station to file a case.

When police arrived at the murder scene, they discovered the suspect had blacked out and caught her. She was jailed at the Kitengela police station.

On Tuesday, Naiserian appeared before Chief Magistrate Jane Kamau in a Kajiado court. The court ordered that she be held in police custody for another ten days to allow police detectives to conclude their investigations. Naserian is scheduled to appear in court again on May 8.
