On Monday, Charles Okello Engola, Uganda's State Minister for Labour, Employment, and Industrial Relations, was shot dead by his security.

According to NTV Uganda, the minister was shot in his Kampala house.

The Speaker of Parliament, Anita Among, confirmed Okello's death while presiding over the parliamentary session this morning.

"I received the sad news this morning that Hon Engola was shot by his bodyguard, who then shot himself." May his spirit find peace. That was God's intention. 

"We can't do anything," she explained.

Security agents have roped off the crime scene. When we were publishing this article, the motive behind this gruesome murder had not yet been revealed. Police have opened an investigation to determine what led to the fateful incident.

Residents speculate there might have been a disagreement that led to the shootout.
