"Missing body organs found in Shakahola genocide victims, suggesting possible extraction of organs before mass graves burial," court documents allege.

"Post-mortem reports have established missing organs," said Chief Inspector Martin Munene, as police investigate alleged cult leader Paul Mackenzie's role in organ trafficking.

Police are investigating suspected cult leader Paul Mackenzie's involvement in human organ harvesting and trafficking. Mr Munene stated that many of Mr Mackenzie's supporters are missing and presumed dead.

"Both pastors Mr Mackenzie and Pastor Ezekiel Odero are believed to have a close link," Mr Munene said.

The investigator further stated that the victims are still being identified through DNA profiling because the post-mortem procedure has not been completed.

"It is believed that the trade in human body organs was well-coordinated, involving multiple players." "More bodies are suspected to be buried in the vast land covering more than 1,000 acres," stated the officer.

Simultaneously, a Milimani court ordered the freeze of over 20 bank accounts associated with Pastor Ezekiel and his New Life Prayer Centre and Church. The court also authorized the Financial Investigations Unit to investigate the televangelist's and his church's bank and M-Pesa accounts.

Cooperative Bank, NCBA Bank, Equity Bank, KCB Bank, HFC Bank, and Safaricom Kenya Ltd own the funds. Some of the performances are denominated in dollars and euros.

The police have also been granted access to bank statements, account signatories, RTGS (Swift) transactions from January 1, 2017, to April 30, 2023, and any other relevant document that may aid the officer in completing investigations into suspected money laundering cases.

"An order is hereby issued requiring the managers of the banks and Safaricom to accordingly nominate authorized individuals to record declarations, make and give the officer an acknowledgment of production of digital proof generated electronically or from any electronic device that shall be given in compliance with the order above," the court document stated.

The court also imposed orders prohibiting money withdrawals for 30 days to allow the police to conclude their investigations.

The officer observed in an affidavit supporting the freezing of the bank accounts that Pastor Ezekiel's statements have received large cash transactions. The money that the police suspect is from victims tricked into selling their properties and handing the money to Pastor Mackenzie.

Mr Munene stated that Pastor Ezekiel opened multiple bank accounts and expressed concern that the funds might be withdrawn if freeze orders were not imposed.

"Investigations will allow the DCI to assemble confirmatory evidence regarding financial flow as alleged," he stated.

On the other hand, a team of eight lawyers representing Pastor Ezekiel has promised to fight the account freeze orders, accusing the DCI of forum shopping.

The lawyers attempted to bring the matter before Mombasa Presiding Judge Olga Sewe, who was hearing another petition in which Pastor Ezekiel had urged the court to intervene by preventing the government from freezing his accounts.
