The Sosiot trading centre in Belgut has been immersed in shock and anguish after an Administration Police officer allegedly shot his fiancée dead before turning the pistol on himself.
An officer assigned to the vital infrastructure Protection Unit (CIPU) guarding the Belgut sub-county headquarters shot his girlfriend at her workplace, just down the street from the sub-county office, according to junior police officers at Sosiot police station.
After shooting his girlfriend, the officer allegedly walked home and shot himself.
There have been few reports of what happened before the deadly shooting, though witnesses believe the officer and the deceased were a couple.
