Police in Kuresoi North have initiated a manhunt for a father suspected of strangling his 8-year-old son and attempting to strangle his 6-year-old son and 2-year-old daughter.
The incident occurred in woodland in Kuresoi North's Nyota Village.
According to residents who contacted royal media, the father was last seen heading into the woodland with the three youngsters. Two children were discovered unconscious minutes later, one of whom had already died.
Kuresoi North Police Commander Judah Gathenge verified the event, adding strangulation marks were found on the deceased and one of the rescued children.

The two youngsters seek medical treatment at Nakuru's Molo Sub-county Hospital.
According to Molo Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr Susan Wanjiku, the children are stable after the deceased's body was taken to the Molo Sub-county hospital mortuary.
