According to investigators, evidence suggests that former Treasury employee Tom Osinde may have been murdered in his Nakuru house before taking his body to Migori for disposal.
Cleaning up the blood stains in the residence was an attempt by the murderers to cover up the evidence.
Even though some investigators think the killers were after the victim's money, the reason for the murder is still a mystery.
Despite their claims that they were dispatched on the mission, two murder suspects in jail are not providing much details about a potential motive, according to authorities involved in the investigation.
As police stepped up their search for additional potential Osinde killers, detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Homicide Unit joined the investigation.

On June 18, Osinde went missing. Four days later, his body was found in the River Kuja in the county of Migori.
Although the main suspect cleaned up the crime scene to hide evidence, forensics detectives who searched the area meticulously discovered blood samples.
According to authorities, the samples' forensic processing revealed that Osinde's DNA was in them.
According to investigations, Osinde had employed the suspect three months before his violent murder as a farmhand.
During the incident, he had also been promoted to supervisor at his home. According to police, Osinde hired Mogoi without being aware that the primary suspect was on the run following a previous assault case in his county of Kisii.
According to authorities, he was also wanted for molesting a child.
After receiving a second 21-day detention order from the Molo Law Courts, the suspect is being held at the Menengai Police Station in Nakuru.
Osinde resided in one of the mansion's rooms in his Ngata home, which is currently under construction.
Additionally, there is a tiny home in the compound where his employees claim he likes to unwind.
On the day of his death, the suspect and his accomplices refuelled Osinde's four-wheel drive vehicle at the Rubis gas station on the Nakuru-Eldoret route.
According to reports, the suspect confessed to senior authorities that he had committed the murder, and the detectives have now located him near the crime scene.
Two hits to the head caused Osinde's death, an autopsy of his corpse revealed. His brain was injured as a result of the two head wounds.
On June 18, 2023, the day he was reported missing, authorities believe he was slain.
His body was first sent to a private mortuary in Migori, which could not be admitted because it was unclaimed. Therefore, it was transferred to Migori Level Four Hospital. His body was discovered in the river Kuja on June 22, four days after he was reported missing.
When the deceased's car was found on June 22 in Kiligoris, it also had some blood marks.
The authorities are also looking into accusations that additional individuals in the deceased's home were allegedly Tanzanian citizens on the day of the incident.
The officers are seeking further explanations on the odd tampering with the energy connection at the deceased's home. Osinde was employed by the Treasury's Economic Secretary's office.
His car was seen leaving his house and being driven by an unknown individual before he vanished. Near Osinde's Ngata farm in Nakuru, some boda boda drivers reported that while Osinde typically greeted them, he did not on that particular day.
Detectives also reported that two electricity switches in his Ngata home's upstairs staircase had been vandalized; part of the investigation is to determine whether this occurred before or after he died.
One claimed, "I watched the car leave the house, but it was being driven by a strange guy who did not even acknowledge us.
Two suspects detained on June 27 concerning the kidnapping and subsequent murder of Osinde are already in custody.
On the evening of June 18, only a few hours after Osinde went missing, the lead suspect strangely made his way to their house in South Mugirango, Kisii County.
He hadn't been here for three years, so this was his first visit. A day after he was reported missing, he is claimed to have taken the four-wheel to a car wash in Osinde's hamlet.
One of the car wash employees said, "He told us to wash the car from outside only because it was not dirty inside."
Then, unusually, he spent the night in his village with Osinde's automobile.
After that, according to police investigations, he drove it to Kilgoris and left it there.
He informed the cops. On June 18, he carried out Osinde's request to give money to a woman at a gas station in Kericho Town and spoke with him.
Police claim they have proof that the allegations are untrue. Osinde's cell phone is yet to be located.
