According to one of the witnesses, Fredrick Odima, the suspected rapists broke into the grandmother's house at 8 p.m. to commit the crime.

According to him, the grandma was only rescued by several neighbours who heard her scream for aid before rushing there and discovering the suspected rapists in the act.

The suspected rapists, whose identities are still unknown, fled into the darkness before speeding away on a motorcycle, leaving the granny moaning in anguish, according to Odima.
