Siaya County police have detained the main suspect in the death of a man who was shot during a robbery at a cyber shop on August 1.

According to a statement released Wednesday by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Charles Odhiambo was apprehended after forensic trails led detectives to his hiding on Awelo estate.

Preliminary investigations also found that Odhiambo was a member of the 'comrades' group, suspected of being behind several robberies in the county.

A getaway motorcycle, two number plates, various mobile phones, household appliances, National ID cards, and two pangas thought to be his crime weapons were discovered.

Among the other items are steel cutters, spanners, a printer, a projector, and screwdrivers.

Odhiambo has now been arrested and held at the Yala police station for arraignment.

Meanwhile, a manhunt is underway to catch his accomplices.
