The body of an 18-year-old male was discovered inside a water tank at Ndere Health Centre on Monday, prompting police in Gem Yala sub-county to initiate an inquiry.
A mentally ill man identified as Stephen Ouma was discovered floating inside the water tank.
The workers at Ndere Health Centre discovered the body, according to Gem Yala Medical Officer of Health Dr. Chris Opati.
He informed journalists that the staff's curiosity was piqued by some garments found beside a ladder tied to the water tank, causing them to climb to inspect the tank when they came across the body.
Ouma was reported missing from his remote house in Madeya on Saturday, and his family had been hunting for him until yesterday when they learned that his body had been discovered within the water tank.
The deceased's body was recovered from the tank by police and taken to the Yala Sub-county hospital mortuary to await postmortem as inquiries into the incident began.
