The body of the missing hairstylist, who went missing over two weeks ago, was discovered in a pit latrine in the Mlolongo neighborhood.

The decomposing body of Jane Mwende Mwanzia, 29, was discovered after the suspects led police to the location of the body.

The individuals arrested last week concerning Mwende's disappearance had previously led authorities to a Magongo woodland in Makueni County's Wote district.

The suspects would then adjust the narrative that led the police to Kiserian before exposing the true spot where Mwende's death was located in Mlolongo, in a dramatic turn of events.

Mwende's family, friends, and colleagues have been searching for her frantically since she went missing just over two weeks ago without result.

Jane Mwende claimed to have gotten a phone call early Friday morning, August 25th, from a person acting as a client requiring her hairdressing services at their residence. She walked away, never to return.

"Alipigiwa simu asubuhi kitu saa tatu," he says. "saa nne..wakati aliondoka alienda hajawai rudi...," Winnie Munyau, a hairdresser at the salon, recalls.

"Alitoka hapa hakusema anaenda wapi... "Alichukua tu simu na akaenda...," Jennifer Mwende, who also works at the salon, added.

When Jane failed to attend work the next day, concerns were raised. Her phone was still turned off.

Jane went missing after failing to pick up her child from her Yatta residence in Machakos following the August break.

The Mlolongo Police Station is investigating a possible link between Jane's disappearance, a love triangle, and her involvement in the real estate market.

Jane and another woman in Mlolongo town are said to have been involved in a dispute with a male whom police have already questioned. Interestingly, the other lady has never been seen in Mlolongo since Jane's abduction.
