In other news, An Eldoret court sentenced a 20-year-old man to 30 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to defiling a five-year-old Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) student.
Eliakim Kemboi alias Elias, a cook at a private primary school, astonished the court when he admitted to defiling the youngster in the schoolroom. The accuser has been working at the school with the child's mother.
Elias, who is blind, is accused of committing the crime on August 29, 2023, in the Moiben district of Uasin Gishu County.
He was accused of violating the law by engaging in an indecent act with the child.
The defendant stated that he had removed the child's trousers in a classroom before his mother came unexpectedly.
According to a medical examination report from Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH), the infant was defiled.
Eldoret Senior Court Judge Caroline Wattimah stated in her judgment that even if the accused claimed that he had not defiled the child when his mother entered, his conduct of undressing her was a clear sign that she had malicious intentions.
