The Migori County Department of Water, in partnership with the water police unit, apprehended four people on suspicion of vandalizing water pipelines worth around Ksh.2.3 million.
According to Fidel Majiwa, the Department of Water and Energy chief officer, the four suspects were arrested and turned over to police pending arraignment.
According to Majiwa, the suspects are accused of vandalizing water lines that connect the one-kilometer-apart communities of Kawa and Ngege in Suna East Sub-county.
He claimed that the destruction of the water lines had resulted in a water crisis in the areas served by the vandalized water pipes.
