Police in Narok South Constituency, Narok County, are investigating an incident where a 16-year-old girl was beaten to death by her father.

The man, Isaiah Kibet Sawe Kipsigis, 44, of Jerusalem Village in Narok County, is accused of assaulting his daughter, a Form Two student at Sagamian Secondary School. The girl died at Longisa Hospital while undergoing treatment.

The father was saved from being lynched by an angry mob. He was later taken to Tendwet Police Station for questioning.

Following the receipt of details by the area Assistant Chief, Dan Kones, a report was filed with the police station under Ref OB No. 04/02/10/2023.

The deceased's body was taken to Longisa Sub-County Hospital for an autopsy to ascertain the exact cause of death.

The investigation is being led by the Narok South Sub-County Criminal Investigations Officer (SCCIO).
