The Kiatu Kivue hitmaker Anastacia Kakii disclosed that she stayed single for nine years following her divorce from her first husband, Mukabwa, before finding love again in her remarriage. She candidly shared that adopting her ex-husband's surname was a decision she deeply regretted, and she now urges women to refrain from using their partners' names. The renowned Kiatu Kivue artist emphasized the importance of women embracing their birth names and utilizing them to establish their personal brands, rather than adopting their spouses' surnames.
The Kiatu Kivue hitmaker, in a recent interview with Radio Citizen, opened up about her past failed marriage, revealing she had moved on and was in a new relationship.

" I was married, but after my marriage failed, I dropped my husband's name, Mukabwa and started using my second name, Kakii," she said.
"We were in love, but after divorcing, we both moved on. He remarried, and I stayed single for nine years, then fell in love again."
The singer got married for the second time and was forced to drop her ex-husband's name.

"For now, I am Mrs Williams. Najua watu watarusha mawe na wenye kunifurahia watanifurahia. Wewe unayetaka kusema sana hukuwepo wakati nikilia. Naomba usiwe enemy of progress. Usirushe mawe maana hujui kile nilichopitia," said Anastacia.
Despite their acrimonious separation, Anastacia expressed her reluctance to reveal intimate details, as there were moments when her ex-husband was dear to her.

She went on to counsel women against anchoring their identities on their spouses' names, underlining the potential impact on their personal brand in the event of a separation.

"Uko na jina lako. Jibrand kama wewe. Hilo ni funzo. Jifunze kutoka kwangu maana nimebrand Mukabwa kuibadilisha inakuwa shida.Jifunze ku brand jina lako litakusaidia hata kama umeolewa."
Anastacia said trying to make people drop the name Mukabwa has been a big task.
