Former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko gave former president Uhuru Kenyatta a birthday present of over Ksh 1 million worth of alcohol.

In a social media video, Sonko and his group can be seen at a nearby liquor store cross-referencing the many high-end alcohol brands on display.

They then made specific brand selections totaling Ksh1,029,000; among the alcoholic beverages acquired was Remy Martin's Louis XIII brandy, which has a Ksh420,000 value.

"How much is it?" Sonko asked to which the cashier lady replied "It's Ksh1,029,000," Sonko then handed his credit card for swiping.

"Happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Kenyatta, happy birthday to you," Sonko sang.

Sonko greeted Uhuru with a message on one of his social media posts that said:

"Happy belated birthday, my former buddy Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta. It is written in Mathew 5:43. "Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you."

"I celebrate the former President H.E Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta. May the Good Lord give him good health and a long life as he celebrates his 62nd birthday". Sonko wrote.

In the latter days of his tenure as Nairobi Governor, the politician and the retired president had a falling out. However, the politician apologized and asked for forgiveness.

"Happy birthday, my brother, and may your additional year bring you happiness. May God forgive me for the insults, unkind words, and anything I have said to provoke you in revenge. I have also forgiven you for all the wrongdoings and persecution. May you live long. God bless you and your family," Sonko prayed.

The former governor continued and disclosed that, in addition to the drinks, he had also given him a cake and a card.

On October 26, Uhuru celebrated his 62nd birthday in various ways across the nation, even though he was not present.
