Former Starehe MP and singer Charles Kanyi, aka Jaguar, boosted the bogus news by claiming the artist had committed suicide.

However, Alpha's buddy, comedian YY, swiftly rushed to social media to clarify that the singer had not died but had been hospitalized.

And now Alpha has come out to describe the events that led to the propagation of the fake news of his death.

In an interview with Youtuber Nicholas Kioko, Alpha described how he was poisoned at a gig he was invited to in Rongai, which nearly killed him.

The musician claimed he was invited to perform at the gathering by an unknown person and was given poisoned food.

The singer denied attempting suicide, claiming that he has come a long way as a street kid and has been through so much that death is not an option in his life.

Alpha claims he has subsequently given a police statement regarding the poisoning and recalls only one face from the occasion in Rongai.

He adds that, despite his financial situation, he will continue to make ends meet through music and skits.
