Kenyan comedian Elsa Majimbo, based in the United States has addressed allegations suggesting that fame has changed her. In a video she shared on social media directed at critics, Elsa clarified that she was never humble but rather a victim of her circumstances.
The comedian attributed her evolved style to financial success, noting that her net worth has surged and this has influenced her fashion choices. Majimbo openly acknowledged the impact of money on her life, confidently stating that she is now affluent.

“I have seen a lot of comments from people saying how money has changed me so much. Of course, it has, are you joking? I was never humble; I was a victim of my circumstances, do you know the differences?”


The 22-year-old explained the evolution in her style, attributing it to her financial success.
“Oh what happened to the old Elsa, oh money changed her. She got her money up and my net worth went through the roof; that’s what happened to the old Elsa. Oh, her style has changed so much; yeah, I am rich now. Even the laugh is rich,” stated Elsa.
Majimbo catapulted to fame during the COVID-19 pandemic with her humorous videos on social media.
Her achievements include winning various awards, notably the E! People’s Choice Award for African Social Star of 2020 and the Forbes Woman Africa Entertainer Award 2021.




Additionally, she has collaborated with renowned celebrities like Rihanna, Naomi Campbell, and Anderson Cooper.
The comedian was part of the celebrity attendees at the launch of Lori Harvey's party wear collection, hosted by Steve Harvey's daughter.
Majimbo shared her look for the day on social media, strutting the red carpet in a stunning grey animal-print, bare-back short dress complemented with hand jewelry. However, her ensemble failed to impress some of her followers.

Surprisingly, the critiques of her style did not come from Kenyans, but rather from South Africans. This is noteworthy as the comedian had previously touted South Africans as her steadfast support system on social media.
