President William Ruto was the honored guest at the vibrant traditional wedding of Mathira MP Eric Wamumbi and Murang'a County Woman Representative Betty Maina on Saturday.



Leaders from all political stripes gathered in Kangare,Murang'a county, to commemorate love.

Before the August 2022 elections, during the campaign trail, the two UDA leaders fell in love.

The Head of State congratulated them and wished them a lifetime of happiness.


"Congratulations, Betty and Eric, on your union. May your journey be filled with love, joy, and countless shared moments. I wish you a lifetime of happiness that continues to grow stronger with each passing day, Kangare," Ruto said.

His deputy, Rigathi Gachagua, enjoyed every moment of the occasion.



The DP, who has never shied away from expressing his feelings, ended up in the center of the dance floor.

" The Gikuyu Happy occasions are celebrated with song and Dance. I joined President Ruto, elected leaders and wananchi to celebrate the Traditional Wedding ceremony of Hon Eric Wamumbi and Betty Maina in dancing to Love songs as I wished the couple a Happy marriage," Gachagua said.
