Mike Mbuvi Sonko, the former county governor of Nairobi, has stated clearly that he and Senator Karen Nyamu, the nominee, have never been romantically involved.

In a statement he made on Wednesday afternoon, the businessman refuted certain internet users' assertions that they met for romantic reasons.

He pointed out that it would be impossible for Karen Nyamu and singer Samuel Muchoki, also known as Samidoh, to have slept together, as he was also present during the meeting.

The divisive politician included a photo of himself between Senator Nyamu and the Mugithi singer with his message.

On Tuesday, after Sonko shared a picture of himself and Karen Nyamu inside his office, some online users expressed concerns regarding the meeting between the two politicians.

The pair appeared in high spirits in the photo and were not wearing shoes. "Nomaree!" Sonko wrote in a picture that he shared on social media.

Mike: "Yule ananipea, atakuletea.."

Sonko disclosed last year that he was the one who put Senator Karen Nyamu in contact with the Mugiithi singer.

The former governor allegedly introduced the two at a Mugithi Night celebration in Dubai a number of years ago. When Sonko disclosed the information, he left a remark on Nyamu's Facebook post.

Karen, married to Samidoh and has two children, accepted the statement and asked him to stop disclosing more information.

Sonko has been spotted numerous times with the couple, and they appear to have a very close relationship.
