Spider clan, a Kenyan gengetone group known for their hit song 'Rieng Genje' and its popular lyrics 'Cash crop ya Nyandarua ni Mawaru,' 'Kaveve kazoze,' 'unibebe hadi mbere ya kerende', has requested assistance.
They stated that, contrary to popular belief, they did not profit financially from the song.
They said that once the song completely blew up and reached 4 million views, they realized they could monetize it.
They claimed that the sound producer was the only one who benefited from the numerous song views because he was the only one who was monetized, leaving them with no money to show for their hard work and creativity.
They went on to say that convincing people they don't have money is difficult because the posh life people see online is different from the one they live now.
