Reverend Charles Koskei, the father to bomet bride Nelly Chepkoech, who allegedly canceled her wedding, has come to her defense, accusing the wedding officiant of canceling the wedding.
During a press release after the story of the wedding trended on Facebook and Twitter, Mr. Koski said that the reverend was the one who canceled the wedding because the courtship period between the couple was too short.
"The reverend is the one who canceled the wedding claiming the courtship period was short."
He alleged that the preacher who was to officiate the wedding informed him that they had not provided specific documentation.

"He said they postponed the wedding and we will be holding a meeting next week. He said the couple had not filled out some forms and not submitted their parents' IDs photocopies," he explained.
