DJ Afro took center stage and stole the show during the Jamhuri Day Celebrations at Uhuru Gardens in Nairobi on Tuesday, December 12.
The most renowned movie commentator in Kenya, DJ Afro, was the headline act for the first performance, gracing the presence of President William Ruto and other dignitaries.
Using his distinctive voice, impeccable diction, and tonal variation, DJ Afro narrated the evolution of Kenyan comedy and screenplay.

During the event, DJ Afro expressed his appreciation for various comedians, allowing each a brief moment to showcase their talents and take Kenyans on a journey through Kenyan comedy.
DJ Afro mentioned classic shows such as Tahamaki, Vituko, Je Huu ni Ungwana, and Tausi, evoking nostalgia for the audience. Rukia, who played a lead role in Tausi, was also present to entertain Kenyans during the Jamhuri Celebrations.
Acknowledging modern shows, DJ Afro highlighted the significance of Churchill Show, Mshamba, Mother-in-Law, and Inspector Mwala, among others.
To satisfy Kenyans, DJ Afro was joined on stage by other performers who had various responsibilities in the aforementioned shows.
He received praise for his performance on several social media networks. Kenyans applauded him for staying relevant in the entertainment business for more than ten years.
