Host of the NTV's Wicked Edition Dr. King'ori has refuted rumors suggesting that he had a disagreement with NTV bosses, leading to his departure from the station after seven years.

Addressing the matter on Friday, January 12, during his final hosting of The Wicked Edition show, the comedian dismissed the claims as untrue and misleading. Dr. King'ori clarified that numerous individuals had reached out to him following reports that Nation Media Group (NMG) was suspending all editorial shows.

Nevertheless, King'ori emphasized that The Wicked Edition was not classified as an editorial show.

The comedian conveyed to the audience that the choice to step down was a personal decision he had made.

“The Wicked Edition is not an editorial show and our relationship with NTV has been nothing but the best. For the 10 years I have been with Nation, I leave with nothing but the good vibes,” Dr King’ori stated.

“The decision that this be our last episode at NTV is purely personal,” Dr King’ori.

During his sign-off, the comedian highlighted some of his accomplishments, including collaborating with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNCHR) to provide a second chance at life for a million displaced persons in the country.

Dr. King’ori had previously released a statement on Friday, officially announcing his departure. Over the course of hosting more than 300 episodes on TV, The Wicked Edition garnered over 70 million views on YouTube, solidifying its position as the longest-running satire show on Kenyan television.
