In a video shared by American Star Kelis Rogers on her social media, the lively personality was seen maneuvering through the notorious traffic of Nairobi's Central Business District. She psyched herself up for a challenging intersection where she discovered that pedestrians didn't have the right of way. Carrying multiple 'Uhuru' bags filled with shopping, she chanted the familiar school-going children's mantra, "Be aggressive, be, be aggressive," gearing up to cross the road.

She was recorded on Kenyatta Avenue, where numerous public service vehicles were maneuvering and squeezing through to make their way.

Amid the chaos of beeping horns and vehicles manoeuvring through the crowded street, Kelis, with a playful smile, says, “Pedestrians, don’t have the right of way.”

She then ran across the road, having said it was like playing ‘Double Dutch’ before one had to run across the road.

Before embarking on a town adventure, an acquaintance of hers patiently waited on the other side of the road.

“Guess where I’m at now!?!? Pro tip! Pedestrians do not have the right of way, you better move fast and look both ways,” Kelis captioned her video.

Kelis is presently on a tourism tour in Africa, having recently visited Zanzibar before arriving in Nairobi. While in Zanzibar, she was captured shopping for groceries in an open-air market. Apart from her singing career, Kelis is also known as a chef.

Kenyans were particularly delighted to discover her presence in the country, noting her low-key approach despite her celebrity status.

Many lauded Kelis for being down to earth, fun, and fashionable as she spent time moving about the CBD.

This isn't her initial visit to Kenya. Back in 2019, she journeyed to the nation and ventured towards the globally acclaimed Maasai Mara National Park located in Narok County.
