Despite receiving a dozen nominations, the female rapper has yet to secure a Grammy Award. Online fans ignited a heated debate when the Recording Academy/Grammy Award accidentally tweeted that Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice's 'Barbie World' had won Best Rap Song.

Fans expressed intense frustration towards X because the Grammy's had committed a significant error. It turned out that 'Barbie World' didn't win the category; instead, Killer Mike's 'Scientists and Engineers' received the accolade. Interestingly, fans directed their criticism at Nicki, attributing the mistake to karma.

Recently, Nicki and Megan Thee Stallion have been involved in a rivalry, which has led to their supporters supporting them by attacking each other online. As a result, the criticism of Nicki in the comments section makes more sense now that we know the underlying reasons for this hostility.

Nicki may be hurt by this Grammy loss because, despite her twelve nominations since 2011, she has never taken home a trophy.

This will undoubtedly be a source of frustration for Nicki, considering she has achieved numerous number 1 songs and albums over the years. Meanwhile, some artists with less global reach and appeal have managed to secure multiple wins. This apparent snub is likely to intensify the animosity that the talented rapper holds towards the Academy.

In November 2022, the musician hit out at the world's most popular music awards for putting her hit single Super Freaky Girl in a category where it has "less of a chance to win".

Speaking on Instagram, she said the song had been moved to the pop category to clear the path "to give newer artists things that they really don't deserve" in the rap field.
