Ababu Namwamba, the current cabinet secretary for youth affairs, creative economy, and sports, is on official business in Los Angeles, California, looking for collaborations to support Kenya's creative industry.

Namwamba attended the 66th Grammy Awards ceremony on Sunday at the Crypto.com Arena while on a three-day trip to Los Angeles.

Later, the CS would negotiate with Lawrence Depsonon, the founder of 1500 Sound Academy Studios, to train up-and-coming musicians via the Talanta Hela program, claiming that this would help the company's revenue growth.

The CS also revealed in an X statement that he had discussions with Nicholas Weinstock, president of Invention Studios, about potential collaborations on film production and content development with Kenyan filmmakers.

A statement from the ministry said, "Later, on the sidelines of the Annual Grammy Awards ceremony, CS Ababu Namwamba met the Grammy Recording Academy CEO Panos A. Panay, and they held talks on the progression of an ongoing MOU with the Grammy's for the promotion of Kenya's content globally."

Timothy Owase, the CEO of Kenya Films Commission, and Thomas BigTed Kwaka, the Kenyan ambassador in Los Angeles, also attended the discussions.

Namwamba also got to know well-known Kenyan-born content creator Elsa Majimbo in Los Angeles.
