In the Blended Family podcast, social media influencer Maureen Waititu shared that dating before having kids is significantly different from dating after becoming a parent.
"I had mine when I was young, had just cleared uni, and then I'm here on the other side with the two of them, with a different body, different priorities, everything is different including my type, it's clear now, coz there's that aspect of growth, "

Effectively co-parenting with her baby daddy, Maureen emphasized the significance of introducing her new partner when discussing blended families.
"If I feel that this person is going to become a permanent fixture, then...I remember earlier on during my breakup with my baby daddy there was something I told him before everything went down. I told him I will always respect you, if I get somebody in my life and I feel like they are going to be here, I would want you to be the first person to know. so that there are no surprises no matter how painful it might seem, we are gonna sit down and work through it."
She further added
"That was a desire of course it didn't happen but in my ideal world that could be it. I would love to be so cordial with my ex-partner to be to tell them hey listen this is happening and my kids, you know coz there will be many changes. This person would maybe want to be there permanently and maybe have his fatherly duties."
Zari Hassan, a well-known celebrity, openly shared her experience introducing her current husband to her ex-baby daddy. In 2023, the meeting between Shakib and Diamond was initiated by the singer's curiosity to get to know the person his children were spending time with. Zari revealed that she had discussed this beforehand with Diamond, who expressed a desire to meet her current spouse.
She mentioned that both men handled the situation maturely, and arranging the meet-up posed no difficulties for her.
“I think, it is us the women who like rope-pulling, but for the two men, they were very cool about it,” she said.
“Some time back, I remember I sat down with Diamond and when I told him I was married he said he wanted to meet my man.”
Zari says Diamond wanted to “know the kind of person that was spending more time with his children than him.”
“Then I talked to Shakib about it…I asked him if he was down with it and he said yes. In the end, it was the easiest thing to do.”
