Reiterating her position, singer Millicent Jepkorir, widely recognized as Marakwet Daughter for her acclaimed 'Mali Safi Chito' hit, affirms that she remains unwilling to collaborate with fellow Kenyan musicians. In a recent interview with a local publication, Marakwet Daughter delved into her musical journey, revealing that she does not have a particular role model in the industry. The artist underscored her dependency on God as the cornerstone of her success.

The ‘Mali Safi Chito’ hitmaker further stated that she cannot do music collaborations because God has her back and He will not leave her ashamed.

(Please forgive me musicians because I don’t have a role model. My aim is for God to manifest Himself through me. I prayed to God to make himself known through me and not shame Himself. Anything to do with role models is hard for me which is the reason why I can’t collaborate with Kenyan musicians. My heart of not okay with that),” she said.

Marakwet Daughter catapulted to immediate fame upon the release of her song 'Mali Safi Chito' last year.

The song not only resonated across entertainment joints but also emerged as the favorite wedding anthem of 2023.

The triumph of her hit single paved the way for Marakwet Daughter to grace stages that many musicians of her caliber can only aspire to perform on.
