US based Kenyan  comedian Elsa Majimbo has opened up about what she perceives as being blackballed by supermodel Naomi Campbell in Hollywood.

Elsa detailed the incident, which originated from what appeared to be a pleasant encounter with Campbell in December 2020 when the supermodel had visited Nairobi for leisure.

Through her TikTok page, Elsa Majimbo shared her enthusiasm about the opportunity to meet Naomi Campbell who had invited her to join for a vacation in Malindi.

While spending time together, Majimbo asserted that Campbell proposed the idea of filming a documentary that would capture Majimbo's journey to America as she pursued opportunities in Hollywood.

However, tensions reportedly surfaced when Majimbo premiered a documentary detailing her encounters with colorism and discrimination in Kenya, without informing Campbell about the earlier beach encounter.

Majimbo recounted a subsequent phone call from Campbell expressing anger over not being informed about the documentary. Despite efforts to explain herself, Majimbo alleged that Campbell became progressively hostile, ultimately severing communication.

Experiencing a sense of isolation in the industry, Majimbo confessed to grappling with the situation, at times resorting to excessive drinking to cope with the stress.

A turning point occurred during an unexpected meeting with fashion icon Edward Enninful – a Ghanaian who held the distinction of being the first male and first black editor of British Vogue. This encounter made Majimbo comprehend the gravity of her situation, prompting her to take steps to address it.

Since then, Majimbo has actively worked towards reconciling with Campbell, expressing appreciation for the opportunities the supermodel initially offered her in the industry.

However, she clarified that their relationship remains tense, existing somewhere between neither friends nor foes.

“I’m not going to speak on that but I will say that Naomi did give me a lot of credibility especially when I first came to Hollywood. She made me feel special she did a lot of things for me so I wouldn’t say she made me but she did play a big role in a lot of the things,” Majimbo said.

Adding, “We’re not friends we’re not enemies were not anything.”

As of now, Naomi Campbell has not made any comments regarding the allegations made in the now-viral video clip.
