Citizen TV Becky's actress Trisha Khalid asserts that she has never provided any reason for anyone to label her as a socialite because she does not identify as one.
Although initially branded as a socialite when she first gained prominence, this designation stuck with her until her foray into acting. Despite transitioning her career, some quarters still categorize her as a socialite.
"I honestly hate it when people call me a socialite because I'm not. I have never given anybody a reason to refer to me as a socialite. I work. I'm an actress, I won a spa and run a boutique as well. All I do is work, how then I'm a socialite. I'm not,"
Trisha gained online prominence through the sharing of pictures that highlighted her aesthetic physique and curves, drawing widespread attention.
She attributes the initial socialite branding to the popularity these images generated. Trisha clarifies that her continuous photo uploads were, in fact, part of a marketing strategy for a fashion boutique that had engaged her as a model to showcase its apparel.
"I never knew I would become famous. I used to model for some brands doing a lot of video and photo shoot content for boutiques and sooner than later my pictures were all over. One time I went to Uganda and was surprised to find my photos in malls. My social media following just kept increasing by the day," Trisha offers.
Trisha transitioned into mainstream showbiz with her role as Ruby in the Maisha Magic telenovela series "Kovu."
Presently, she takes on the character of Trisha in the telenovela "Becky," which airs on Citizen TV.
