Zuchu’s mother Khadija Kopa revealed that she had warned her daughter before her ban from performing in Zanzibar. Zuchu faced this restriction following her Kendwa Rocks show, during which she used what Basata, the National Arts Council of Tanzania, deemed as abusive language.

In an interview with Wasafi FM, Mama Zuchu mentioned that she had a conversation with her daughter just a few days before the performance ban. Before the singer herself shared a video apologizing to her fans, WCB, her label, issued a public apology.

"Wanasema ajali kazini, yataisha. Hakuna jambo lisilokua na mwisho. Kabla hata hayajatokea, nilimwambia. Nimemwelekeza."

WCB, which is her label made a public apology before the singer shared a video apologizing to her fans and Basata, "Kutokana na sintofahamu iliyojitokeza kwenye show yangu ya Zanzibar, niombe radhi kwa jamii kama kuna sintofahamu yoyote iliyojitokeza na kama kuna mtu yoyote ilimkera."

Zuchu clarified that her intention was to entertain, not to cause any disturbance. She extended her apologies to the public and the National Arts Council of Tanzania.
