Nigerian singer David Adedeji Adeleke, known as Davido, has announced that he is suing K24 over an article about his purported detention at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
In a statement dated Tuesday, April 2, the singer voiced his anger with the inaccurate news, calling it 'very irresponsible.'
K24 Digital shared the blatantly made-up article, claiming it was part of their April Fool's Day editorial offering.

Davido also claimed that the claims damaged his reputation and brand, maintaining that he had not been detained as reported - and that he had never been arrested by anybody in the hundreds of nations he had visited.
"Fam, it has come to my attention that false reports regarding an arrest circulated online on April 1st, which has since led to a barrage of calls." the press statement read.
"I want to assure my fans that these reports are entirely untrue. I completed my scheduled shows in Uganda and Kenya and returned home to Nigeria."
"I'd also like to note that I have never been arrested by anyone in any country for any crime in the world. Not my home Nigeria, my home America, or any of the hundreds of countries I've made home throughout my career."
"I find the fabrication of allegations of such international crimes extremely irresponsible regardless of the light of `April Fools', and my lawyer is seeking legal recourse against the media parties responsible for generating this misinformation," he concluded.
