Kenyans on social media have blasted Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen after he dismissed a jobseeker who sought help.

An unidentified individual recorded the exchange between the customer service representative and the job seeker and then leaked it online.

Hustler: Mheshimiwa naeza pata kazi?

In the video, two men appear to shake the CS's hand, and one takes advantage of the chance to mention that he is looking for work.

"Habari zenyu?" Murkomen says, hastily moving around.

After a brief conversation, the man can be heard asking for a job opportunity from the CS.

Towards the end, one can hear him say, "Unitafutie kazi Mheshimiwa..."

The CS wastes little time rejecting the guy, or even taking heed to his situation. He quickly cuts him off, exclaiming, "No, no... Hatupeani kazi hapa..."

Activist Cyprian Nyakundi was among those who blasted the CS, saying that he was wrong because people can get job references anywhere and at any time.

"People get job referrals even in sex dens, bars and everywhere. No matter what you say, Kipchumba Murkomen was wrong to humiliate the guy who approached and greeted him with respect. Those saying he asked for a job at the wrong place must take a chill pill!"

Another added, "Murkomen pea kijana Kazi. It's so bad when politicians think citizens are voting machines. We can be more courteous."

"Murkomen ako tu sawa. Hustler mwenye anataka kazi aende kwa Affordable Housing Project site abebe bags za simiti akikohoa kama wanaume wenzake. Kazi ya ofisi ni ya Gov't Shareholders, my fren."
