The family of the late Nollywood actor John Okafor, also known as Mr. Ibu, has disclosed the arrangements for his funeral. Scheduled for June 28, 2024, Mr. Ibu's funeral details were announced by his older brother, Okafor, on April 13. Okafor explained that the actor will receive a grand send-off, leading to the postponement of the burial.
The family and burial committee have announced that Mr. Ibu will be laid to rest in his hometown of Amuri, located in the Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State. The statement highlights the honor felt by the Okafor family of Eziokwe Amuri, Nkanu West LGA, Enugu State, for their hero and legend, John Ikechukwu Okafor, who even in death left behind a legacy of love, laughter, and vibrancy.

Commencing on Tuesday, June 25, a prominent novelty match commemorating the late star will inaugurate the five-day funeral ceremony. An exceptional celebration of Mr. Ibu's life and legacy, titled "Mr. Ibu's Night," is scheduled for Wednesday, June 26. This event will feature a candlelight parade and live entertainment.
