Former K24 TV news anchor Karen Karimi has faced undeniable challenges in the past few months. Many of her fans were unaware that the adorable media personality had two surgeries during this time, despite the way she seemed on the outside.
Karen Karimi recently shared on her Instagram account that she had undergone two surgeries within a span of just three months.
The esteemed journalist, currently serving as the Director of Communications in the Kilifi County Government, underwent laparoscopy in September 2023, followed by an open surgery in January 2024.
In a lengthy Instagram post, Karen Karimi expressed her gratitude for being alive. She also extended appreciation to the medical professionals who provided her with care and ensured her recovery.
"If someone had foretold me that I would undergo two surgeries within the span of just three months, I would have laughed it off as a cruel joke. But here I am, my body and mind weathered by a whirlwind of pain and triumph. My journey began in September of last year with a loparoscopic surgery, followed by an open surgery this January.
Karen Karimi expressed profound gratitude for the love and support of her family and close friends, which made her journey bearable. She also lauded her general surgeon and gynecologist for their exceptional expertise in guiding her through the challenges. Additionally, she extended her appreciation to the entire team at Mombasa Hospital for their compassionate care.
She added:
"Remember to cherish yourself, cherish your body - it is resilient and deserving of your utmost care. Amidst life's chaos, don't forget to pause and recharge. My newfound sobriety and healthy diet have been a saving grace. I give gratitude to the higher power that has held my hand through it all, a reminder that no matter the challenge, we are never alone".
