Renowned Kenyan journalist Fathiya Mohamed Nur has formally declared her exit from KTN.
In an Instagram post, the charismatic news anchor disclosed her departure and outlined her forthcoming endeavors in the media industry.
Fathiya Mohamed Nur unveiled her new venture, hosting an international news show named World Report. However, the show will now be incorporated into the Standard Group-owned station's programming.
She expressed gratitude for her time spent at KTN as a journalist while eagerly anticipating the new chapter ahead.
"Time for a brand new story! It's been almost two years as a News Anchor at KTN News. I'm so, so proud of what I have achieved. Key highlight: birthing my international news programme, World Report, which is now a flagship show at KTN News! Thanking God for leading me through this journey and onto greater things. Excited for the new chapter!" She wrote.
Fathiya Mohamed Nur anchored her final bulletin at KTN on Tuesday, April 16th, as she confirmed on her Instagram stories.
Back in June 2022, Fathiya Mohamed Nur announced her joining of KTN on her Instagram account. She shared a photo of herself taken at the KTN newsroom, captioning it with the news of her new endeavor.
"The Journey. God knows it hasn't been easy and is still not easy but we keep going š".
Before joining KTN, Fathiya Mohamed Nur had worked at the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) for 4 years, but she exited the station on the 27th of May 2022.
"It's been a great four years at the BBC. I have leant and grown so much. BBC has opened many doors for me and I'm always gonna be grateful but for now time for a new challenge #Alhamdulillah.
Thank you to all my BBC colleagues who have supported my growth since I joined in 2018..." she said in part.
During her tenure at BBC, Fathiya Mohamed Nur hosted the show 'Breakdown' and was also involved in the 'Fact Finder' program.
It's worth noting that Fathiya Mohamed Nur had previously worked at KTN before making the decision to join BBC.
As an alumna of USIU, she spent some time working there before resigning in August 2018.
